Simsbury Bank Assistant Vice President and Granby Branch Senior Marketing Manager Jocelyn Mitchell, was recognized as a 2013 New Leader in Banking by The Connecticut Bankers Association and Connecticut Banking Magazine. Jocelyn accepted the award at the annual New Leaders Award Reception, held on January 17th at MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resorts and Casino.
“This is well deserved recognition for Jocelyn and all of the good work that she does both at a community bank level and as a prominent community leader,” said Howard Zern, Executive Vice President of Simsbury Bank, who nominated Mitchell for the award. “She has provided outstanding leadership to our organization and has greatly impacted the banking community.”

Jocelyn has been an employee at Simsbury Bank for five years and has since established herself as a leader and mentor. She led the charge to grow the branch from $46MM to $70MM in deposits over the last four years and earned #1 deposit market share in 2011 and #2 in 2012. She serves on numerous internal bank committees to help expand the Banks market share. Jocelyn has actively participates in a number of community events including The Gran Bee and Celebrate Granby 225.
Jocelyn is an active member of the Granby Chamber of Commerce and has served on their Board of Directors. She has also served on the Board of Managers at the Farmington Valley YMCA and is currently their Board Chairman.
