Trapped Inside by the Blizzard? Plan to NAMIWalk!

There’s no better time than now to sign up to be a team captain for the 10th anniversary NAMIWalk.

If you log in and sign up before Thursday, Feb. 14th, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a free Sunday brunch certificate at Dakota Steakhouse & Tavern in Rocky Hill. You will also be invited to the Team Captain Kick-Off Breakfast in March, where there will be door prizes, games and guest speakers.

Of course, the most important reason to sign up for the chief fundraising event of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is to help raise funds for the free support groups and educational programs NAMI|Connecticut provides in dozens of places across the state.

Also, the Walk, which will be held in Hartford’s  Bushnell Park on Saturday, May 18, will raise people’s consciousness about mental illness and reduce the stigma that has stood between so many and the care they need.

Register as a team captain, and recruit a team of walkers. Or sign up as an individual walker. All donations are tax deductible. For more information, visit www.namiwalks.org/connecticut or call Janice Shilosky or Iris Nazario at 800-215-3021.
