Briarwoods Farm won't be at market today

I know it's a little late to be posting this (I did email the market master early yesterday afternoon), but the hubby and I couldn't quite cover all the bases with 2 kids and market and an away meet today.  I was hoping they'd cancel the meet due to the heat but then I wouldn't want to be at market anyway!

Summer crops are winding down (cukes are finished, I think squash is too though that may surprise me if the weather holds) but we've still got plenty of tomatoes, peppers and some beans.  I made grape juice for jelly yesterday (today was too hot to cook), and will be making not only grape jelly, but Autumn Fruit Jam and apple butter this week.  Oh, and Blueberry Lime Preserves if I can find the time.

So next week I hope with the meet at East Granby HS, I can swing market and pick up The Boy afterwards, I'll be there with tomatoes and organic apples and lots of preserves - maybe even some snow peas (we'll have to see how they do the next couple of days - they're flowering now) and some shell beans.

Everything was so late this year, and the peppers and beans really need water, but we should have tomatoes and peppers until frost!  So even though market ends on the 25th (2 weeks from today), remember you can always email me at BriarwoodsFarm@gmail.com to see what we have and when the "stand" (aka the garage, in this heat it's moved to the basement) will be open.  I'm not expecting anyone to drop by tonight, or tomorrow with the rain, but we will be open Friday and the weekend.
