Two children from Litchfield County who are on the Autism Spectrum were able to enjoy two weeks of summer fun, thanks to a $3,800 scholarship from the Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut. The recipients participated in FOCUS Center for Autism’s Summer Social Skills Immersion program; a six-week program that utilizes structured and planned activities as well as ordinary daily events as tools for social learning. The program serves children aged 5-18 who are on the Autism Spectrum, and children attend anywhere from one to six weeks.
