Dziedzic Sworn in as New East Granby School Board Member

A resident of East Granby since July 2010, Dziedzic fills the seat vacated by Tom Griffin in January.

The East Granby Board of Education has a new member.

Democrat Dan Dziedzic was unanimously approved and sworn in at the school board’s regular meeting Monday evening.

Dziedzic, a graduate of Johnson State College in Vermont, said that he has been a resident of East Granby since July 2010. He currently is employed in the Bristol public school system, working for the last seven years at the O’Connell Elementary School in providing after school academic support and enrichment and recreational opportunities.

Prior to the vote, school board Chairman Kirby Huget inquired whether Dziedzic had considered his role on the board in the management capacity, when he currently works on the labor side as an educator.

Dziedzic said that he had no issue performing in that role and that, provided that East Granby does not have any dealings with the city of Bristol, there would be no conflict of interest.

“Unless we regionalize with Bristol,” Huget quipped.

Dziedzic fills the seat , who resigned from the board in January.
