East Granby Candidate Profile: John Ziobro

Ziobro and his wife Lucia have lived in East Granby since 1996. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and is part owner of a small shop that overhauls large commercial jet engines.

Ziobro serves the Town of East Granby as vice chair of the Economic Development Commission and as an alternate on the Planning and Zoning Commission. He also serves as Treasurer for the East Granby Republican Town Committee.

As a partner in a small business, Ziobro says that he understands the impact that municipal government has on a company’s long term strategy.

Ziobro says that he was also instrumental in sourcing and directing the acquisition of the solar panels installed on several buildings in town. The panels were purchased for nominal cost and have reduced the town’s electric bills by approximately $6,000 annually.
