The girls' soccer team defeated visiting 2-0 on Thursday, advancing to the second round of the Class S state tournament. No. 12 Somers (9-7) got goals from Jaclyn O'Grady and Kathryn LaVallee. The Spartans outshot No. 21 East Granby (6-10) 13-6. Somers will now travel to No. 5 Immaculate (10-3-2) on Saturday.
