East Granby High Hosts 11th Annual Pops Concert [Video]

The 11th annual East Granby High Pops Concert, which took place Friday evening, was less a concert than it was a community-wide celebration.

To be sure, the evening featured music and performances by the East Granby High School band, high school singers, jazz ensemble, marching band and color guard. This year's theme was "American Classics."

But also interspersed with the excellent performances were lively, participatory intermissions with, among other things, hula hoops, line dancing and house music.

Samantha Martin sang Rodgers & Hammerstein's "If I Loved You"

Carolyn Mollica sang "My Favorite Things"

The EGHS Jazz Band played "Shiny Stockings"

The EGHS Band performed Leroy Anderson, A Legacy in Sound

Anna Glassman sang "Summertime" by George Gershwin

The EGHS Singers sang Rodgers and Hammerstein

EGHS Band played "The Stars and Stripes Forever"

The East Granby Middle School and High School Color Guard performed to "Hello Dolly!" and "Party Rock Anthem"

The East Granby High School Crusaders Marching Band performed "Louie, Louie," "El Gato" and "Tribute to America."
