“We need to stop the single-party rule in Hartford and get Republicans elected to stop the erratic spending and unfunded budgets. Our current representative voted along party lines to repeal the death penalty, for on-site voter registration with no provision for proper ID, and for the largest tax increase in years, and I know we must stop this irrational thinking” Zawistowski said.
Zawistowski told the crowd, “Single party rule in Hartford over the past two years has been disastrous for the state. We need to get more diversity – more balance – in the State House, and slow down state spending.”
Zawistowski knows elections are hard work, and beginning next week she will begin her “walking tour” of the district to meet residents and introduce herself. She said she is looking forward to learning from the public and will be spending time in each town with neighborhood events in every district.
“I believe taxpayers deserve to have representation by someone who will actually represent the district and not the Governor’s agenda. I look forward to being that person and being the voice of my neighbors,” said Zawistowski.
Zawistowski is a business owner of Resource Books, LLC. and is currently vice chair of the East Granby Board of Finance. She is the past president of the East Granby Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Economic Development Commission and was one of a small group that started the highly successful East Granby Farmers Market, which benefits the local library.
Paid for by Tami Z for the 61st. June Cameron, Treasurer, Approved by Tami Zawistowski
