
EAST GRANBY – School officials have announced that Connor Reardon has been named a 2014 National Achievement Scholarship Semifinalist and Sarah Velcofksy has been named a National Merit Commended Scholar. Both are seniors at East Granby High School.
The National Merit Scholarship Program has approximately 1.5 million entrants and of that, the top 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT Selection Index scores (in critical reading, mathematics and writing skills) qualify for recognition in the program.
Connor Reardon has qualified as a Semifinalist, ranking in the top one third of the 50,000 students recognized. Students are designated on a state by state representation basis. They are the highest scoring entrants in each state.

Sarah Velcofsky has been named a Commended Student in the National Merit Program, ranking in the top two thirds of the 50,000 students recognized for their outstanding academic promise.
