East Granby Town Meeting Scheduled Tonight

There will be a Town Meeting at the Senior Community Center tonight at 7:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to make a technical correction to the Storm Alfred debris pickup motion passed at the Nov. 14 Town Meeting. 

The order of business is to rescind the Nov. 14 motion and replace it with a motion which states that “a sum not to exceed $350,000 from the Capital Non-Recurring Fund for debris cleanup and removal from Storm Alfred as recommended by the Board of Selectman and the Board of Finance”. 

We were advised that the wording of the November 14 motion that contained the words “contingent upon 75 percent reimbursement of this amount from FEMA” may not allow the town to qualify for FEMA reimbursement and, as a result, scheduled a new Town Meeting to make the appropriate changes.
