Election Update for East Granby and Granby
The Community/Senior Center in East Granby will serve as the town's polling place, while Granby will hold elections despite 19 percent of the town lacking power as of noon Tuesday.

Elections will go ahead as scheduled in both Granby and East Granby despite the continued power outages affecting both towns.

In East Granby, the , which doubled as the emergency center during the power outages, will serve as the polling place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to the registrar of voters.
While First Selectman James Hayden, a Democrat, is running unopposed for re-election, there are several contested races, including the following (incumbents are noted with an “i”):
Board of Selectmen (Three candidates, two positions open, vote for any one)
Voters have their choice between Democrat M. Thomas Short (i), Republican John Ziobro and petitioning candidate Daniel Velcofsky (i).
Velcofsky is the current Republican member of the Board of Selectmen, but did not receive the nomination for re-election.
Board of Finance (Four candidates, two positions open, vote for any two)
Voters can select from two of the following four candidates: Republican Tami Zawistowski (i), Democrat Bob Paskiewicz, Republican Mark O. Porter and Democrat Mike Malloy (i).
Board of Education (Four candidates, three positions open, vote for any two)
Four candidates are runnig for the school board: Democrat Michele Holt (i), Republican Trevor Sanford (i), Democrat Joseph Doering and Republican Rob Crocker.

In Granby, the polling place is , which will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There are no contested races in town, and Repubican First Selectman John Adams is running for re-election unopposed. Here are the major offices and the candidates:
Board of Selectmen (Four candidates, four positions open, vote for any two)
All four candidates are incumbents: Democrats Sally King and Ronald Desrosier and Republicans Mark Neumann and B. Scott Kuhnly.
Board of Finance (Three candidates, three positions open, vote for any three)
All three candidates are incumbents in this race, as well. Democrat Francis Brady and Republicans Michael Guarco and Robert Clark are all assured election.
Board of Education (Four candidates, four positions open, vote for any four)
Despite every candidate being assured a place on the board, there will be some turnover, as newcomers Lynn Guelzow (D), Jenny Emery (D) and Rosemarie Webber (R) join Republican incumbent Ed Ohannessian in the uncontested race.
