Enfield Girls Top East Granby, 3-1

The Crusaders are off to an 0-2 start and will be looking for a victory against Canton at home Tuesday.

East Granby's Sam Daleb beat Enfield goalkeeper Sydney Ballou early in the second half of a match held Friday afternoon for the Crusaders' only goal of the contest, a 3-1 loss to the Raiders.

Head coach Jill Piekarski and her Crusaders look to turn things around against Canton at home Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. While the team hasn't notched a win yet, there has been some improvement as the team's defense was sharper Friday. The defense cut the team's goal differential in half from the first game of the season, a 6-1 loss to Somers on Sept. 11.

Three different players scored goals as Enfield won its second straight game under first-year head coach Ashley Hurley. Sierra Trzepacz scored the lone goal of the first half, beating Crusaders goalkeeper Brittany Duplin with 14:58 to play.
