CT Valley Views at The Hartford Gun Club—New England’s Premier Shooting Sports Organization

CTVV Host Susan Regan recently visited The Hartford Gun Club, founded in 1864 by Samuel Colt with the original name of the Hartford Rifle Club. It is the oldest gun club in America.


The Hartford Gun Club currently operating with 800 members comprised of men, women and younger family members with a concentration on safety instruction, firearm training and enjoyment of its spacious 160 acre facility in East Granby, CT.  The Club is an active host to many tournaments, including league shooting, registered trap and skeet, and educational programs that include the Boy Scouts of American’s merit badge qualification.  In addition to being a member of the ATA, NSSA and the NSSF as well as home to CT’s “Trap and Skeet Hall of Fame”, the Club has a strong community presence providing a hospitable venue for fundraising events for Food Share, Toys for Tots and Veterans’ groups.
