Gather in the intimacy and beauty of Hill-Stead’s Drawing Room, surrounded by some of the Pope family’s favorite pieces of art, to discuss “Revolutionary Women Writers.” Kate Doemland, Chair of the English Department at Miss Porter’s School, and Hill-Stead’s Director of Education, Marcie Jackson, will lead discussions on women writers who opened the eyes of readers to new worlds at home and abroad. The topic of this session will be The Good Earth by Pearl Buck, as well as Fighting Angels and The Exiles, for biographical background.
