Little Women has been read and enjoyed for generations, with young readers dreaming of being “Jo” or one of the other March sisters. You may not know that the author, Louisa May Alcott, led a fascinating life, serving as a nurse during the Civil War, traveling to Europe with one of her sisters, and having neighbors such as Emerson and Thoreau. Borrow and read (or re-read) Little Women or a biography of Alcott. Extra copies are available at the library. On Thursday October 27 at 7pm, Professor Kerry Driscoll (Saint Joseph College, English Department) will lead a discussion focusing on the book and its author. The program, sponsored by Friends of Granby Public Library, will be in the Granby Town Hall Meeting Room.
