Minstrel Boys Benefit Concert

A musical concert, "Over The Isles to America", will be presented at 7pm on Saturday, February 23, 2013, benefiting the First Congregational Church, Route 189, Granby, CT.  The Minstrel Boys will be performing songs of Scotland, Ireland and America on guitars, banjo, and bagpipe. The group of three performers includes John Chalmers, originally from Scotland, John Somerville, and Peter Dileo, all of whom reside in Connecticut.

The Minstrel Boys have performed throughout southern New England in pubs, colleges, town concerts, festivals, and even The State Capital building.  They have appeared  along with such diverse groups as the Kingston Trio and The Pipes and Drums of the Canadian Black Watch.

The Minstrel Boys always invite audience participation to sing along on new and old familiar songs to help brighten up the late winter season and get folks into the St. Patrick's Day mood.  Tickets will sold at the door - $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students with a maximum of $25 per family.  All proceeds will go to the First Congregational Church of Granby General Fund.  After the concert, there will be light refreshments for attendees in Cook Hall.   For questions or more information, please call the Church at 860-653-4537.
