Here is Bascetta's biography from the induction program:

Playing field hockey in Granby comes with high expectations. This culture is created through amazing young women who believe in themselves and each other, winning traditions, and a history of excellence. Every Granby player who picks up a stick knows that they are going to be part of something special. As a young girl, Abby Bascetta knew nothing other than success when it came to field hockey because she was surrounded by others who loved and excelled in the sport. With competitive older sisters as inspirational role models, and her mom, Jody Bascetta, and aunt, Sandy Wickman Mason, as her talented coaches, Abby was destined to become a powerful and unforgettable force for the Granby field hockey program.
Abby was a four-year starter and tremendous impact player for the varsity program during her field hockey career at Granby High School. As a midfielder, Abby ended her career with 89 career goals and 25 assists and she helped lead her team to state final appearances every year, 3 of which ended with championship titles in 2007, 2009, and 2010! In both the 2009 and 2010 Class S tournaments, Abby was selected as tournament MVP, and she was also the MVP of the Senior All-Star game in 2010. In her senior season, Abby was a team captain, and she helped her team to an undefeated season (19-0) and a #1 ranking in the league. She secured NCCC All-Conference honors and First Team All-Courant honors every year of her career and she was also a Class S All-State selection every year (2nd team in 2007 and 1st team in 2008-2010). Abby was selected as a Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons and in both her junior and senior seasons, she was 1 of 16 players in the country to be named to the Harrow Sports/NFHCA First-Team High School All-American team - a very special honor! Abby was also named the Connecticut Field Hockey Player of the Year and the Hartford Courant Field Hockey Player of the Year two years in a row (2009 and 2010).
In addition to playing for her high school program, Abby was an active participant in the USA Field Hockey training programs, beginning with the Futures program in 2005. She quickly moved up to the Level I and Elite sites and she participated in the National Futures Tournament every year from 2005 through 2009. She was selected to participate in the AAU Junior Olympic Games in 2006, 2007, and 2008 and she was selected to attend Junior National camp in 2009 and 2010. She competed on the New England Junior High Performance Team in 2010 and 2011 and in 2010 she was invited to join the USA U19 team, which gave her the opportunity to participate in their tour to Argentina. As a member of the Cape Ann Field Hockey Club, Abby regularly competed at the USFHA National Festival and National Indoor Tournaments, and Abby helped her team reach the Gold Medal at the USFHA National Festival in 2010.
During her high school career, Abby also excelled in lacrosse, which she played all four years. She was named to the NCCC All-Conference team in 2010 and 2011 and earned 2nd Team Class S All-State honors in 2011. Abby’s high school recognized her athletic prowess by awarding her with the Granby Memorial High School Top Female Athlete Award in her senior year.
After graduating, Abby went on to play field hockey for Boston College and she worked hard each year to help her team face the many challenges of intense ACC competition. Abby contributed right away to the program, playing in all 19 games and earning the Athletic Director’s Award for Academic Achievement her freshman year. In her sophomore and junior year, she trained with the New England Senior High Performance team and was selected to participate in USA Field Hockey’s National Championship. In her sophomore year, she was also selected to play in the U21 Junior National Championship. She closed out her senior season in 2014 with 3 goals and an assist.
Abby graduated from Boston College in 2015 with a degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development and a minor in Communications. She currently works as a Development Associate at Connecticut Children’s in Hartford.
