The Granby Farmers' Market opening day is this Tuesday! This year we have a wonderful variety of vendors. Beech Tree Ranch, Killam and Bassett Farmstead, Winlox Farms, Bridget's Breads, Capa Di Roma, Chet's Italian Ice and Free Lunch Studios will be returning this season. From the Ground Up will also be at the market this year selling fresh produce from their community gardens at the YMCA. We also have new vendors, Mimi's Hilltop Apiary and Flynn Farm and Bakery joining us for the season. This year' market will have a variety of fresh locally grown produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods and honey.
This year the Granby Farmers' Market is a partner with the CT 10% Campaign. Come to the market and take the pledge to spend 10% of your food and gardening dollars locally and you will be entered in a drawing to win one of several gift cards and coupons donated by local businesses. Buying local is a great way to get the freshest produce and it also helps the local economy by supporting our local farmers. To learn more go to www.buyctgrown.com.
Visiting The Granby Farmers' Market is a fun way to spend the afternoon. Not only do we have fresh local foods, but each week we will have local entertainment and fun activities for the kids. Each week will have a theme with special guests and activities. We will have several cooking demonstrations by local chef Mike Webster throughout the season. He will be making delicious recipes with ingredients from our vendors.
The Granby Farmers' Market is open every Tuesday, June 24 through September 9, from 3:00-6:30 at the Farmington Valley YMCA. The Granby Farmers' Market is sponsored by New England Urgent Care of Simsbury, Liberty Mutual Insurance and Simsbury Bank. For more information visit granbyfarmersmarket.com or like us on Facebook.
