Granby Girls Soccer to Face Nonnewaug in Semis Tonight
The second-seeded Bears will face the No. 3 Chiefs qt 5 p.m. in Meriden in a battle of unbeatens.

The second-seeded girls soccer team (16-0-1) squares off against No. 3 Nonnewaug (17-0-2) in the semifinals of the state Class M tournament at Falcon Field in Meriden tonight at 5 p.m.
Granby Memorial, which had a first-round bye, earned its berth in the final four by defeating No. 15 North Branford 3-0 in the second round and No. 10 and . It was the third time this year that the Bears defeated Suffield, the two-time defending Class M champion.
Granby Memorial’s leading scorer, , will have all she can handle, as Nonnewaug, the Berkshire League champions, features a stingy defense that yielded just three regular-season goals.
The Chiefs have been equally difficult to score on in the state tournament, earning a spot in the semifinals with victories over No. 30 Northwestern (2-0), No. 14 Waterford (5-0) and No. 11 Rocky Hill (3-1).
