It promises to be a busy fall postseason for Granby Memorial High School, with four teams having already qualified for state tournament competition and a fifth sitting in great position to make a postseason run.Of the four Bears team who are assured a postseason berth, field hockey is the highest-ranked, sporting a 12-1-1 record through Wednesday, currently good for third in Class S.In Class M, girls volleyball, the defending state champion, is currently fifth (13-4). Boys soccer is 13th (8-4-2) and girls soccer is tied for 20th (8-5-1).The Granby football team won its first six outings, outscoring opponents 249-38 in that span, and currently ranks second in Class S with four games remaining.Neighboring East Granby's boys soccer team (6-8) has a shot at making the Class S tournament, needing at least one tie in its final two regular season games to qualify.State tournament action begins in early November, with championship games slated for Nov. 21.Photo credit: Tim Jensen
