Update: Police Arrest 18-Year-Old for Granby Memorial High School Threat
The high school was briefly locked down Thursday afternoon after a threat on social media.

Granby Police have arrested a Hartford 18-year-old for allegedly threatening to use a firearm at the school on social media.
Granby Memorial High School administrators received word of the threat shortly after 2 p.m., said Capt. William Tyler. The threat was on social media and the person was not on school grounds.
The high school and nearby middle school were placed on lockdown as a precaution. Meanwhile, Granby officers located the suspect at a private Granby residence and took him into custody. The lockdowns were then lifted.

Darien Beasley, 18, was charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. He was held in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
The incident remains under investigation.
