Granby Weather Alert: Beware of Black Ice Saturday into Sunday
The National Weather Service is predicting that melted accumulation will turn to black ice tonight as the mercury dips.

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory about black ice buildup for Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Temperatures in Hartford and Tolland counties will drop below freezing tonight with a low around 26 degrees.
Rain or a mix of rain and snow will change back to snow by the end of the evening. Accumulation of less than a half an inch is possible in the counties.

Untreated surfaces will become icy this evening as the mercury dips below freezing.
Sunday’s high temperature will be in the low to mid 30’s.

And to add insult to injury, the National Weather Service is already predicting that a Nor’easter is possible for Monday night into Tuesday. We’ll update that story once we have more information. But already one prominent local weatherman, Ryan Hanrahan, of NBC Connecticut, wrote on social media, “Weather hype drives me absolutely insane. But, once in a while it’s time to sound the alarms. The Monday night/Tuesday event is quickly escalating into a major winter storm. The could be a BIG one - stay tuned!!!”
