Granbys Athletes Receive Post-Season Recognition

A number of athletes from both and received post-season accolades for their stellar performances on the field, court or track this past fall.

Three players from Granby Memorial’s state championship field hockey team - Haley Makuch, Morgan Malone and Brooke Kumnick - were named All-State in Class S. Also, the field hockey team’s Cailene Gunn was named Academic All-State.

In boys soccer, East Granby’s Andres Restrepo was named All-State in Class S, while Granby Memorial’s Peter Brodeur earned the distinction in Class M; Granby Memorial’s Gabby Dixon was Class M All-State in girls soccer, while East Granby’s Alex Moger earned All-State distinction in boys cross country.

Granby Memorial’s Lauren Holt capped a successful season on the volleyball court by being named All-State in Class M.

Nineteen athletes from both schools made the all-league teams in their respective sports. A listing of All-North Central Conference honorees is below:
