Granby's Cold, Rainy St. Patrick's Day Weekend Forecast

Remember those 50's and 60's from earlier this week, well it's back to reality, and winter is still holding on.

Well, that was a nice break in the weather this week. We could all get used to temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s… but it’s back to reality, basically beginning now, and unfortunately, it’s just in time for St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Some parades have already been rescheduled to next weekend.

The good news is that we’re not looking at any measurable snow or ice over the next seven days. However, we could see some snowflakes late Friday or early Saturday and some snow showers on Sunday.

And while we aren’t expecting any measurable snow, we also won’t see 50 degrees over the next seven days, unfortunately, as temperatures stubbornly remain in the low-to-mid 40s for the next week.

In fact NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote on social media that we could still see more snow by the end of the month.

“DON’T SHOOT THE MESSENGER: But the way this weather pattern looks through the end of March I’d say odds are at least 50/50 we’ll see another decent snowstorm this season. A stormy and cold look for sure over the next couple weeks. Don’t break out the flip flops just yet.”

WTNH News 8 forecasts a cold rain to last most of Saturday, and possibly rain and snow showers on Sunday with highs around 40.

WFSB 3 TV Meteorologist Scot Haney predicts parts of the state could see a wintry mix late Friday, and then a “chilly rain likely” on Saturday, and rain and snow showers on Sunday.
