Sponsored by East Granby Land Trust. Mr. Chester Arnold of UCONN's Center for Land Use Education & Research for a program on low impact development. Protecting your town's waterways has a lot to do with both land use practices dictated by the town regulations, and things that you can put into practice in and around your own property. Chet Arnold will give a presentation with examples of both kinds of "green" practices. After explaining the impact of development on waterways, he'll focus on examples of "low impact development" from around the state, including green roofs, green streets, permeable pavements, and rain gardens. He'll also talk about constructing your own rain garden, and demonstrate the new CLEAR Rain Garden smart phone App.
