Here are some suggestions for indoor activities for your kids.
You could set up a bowling alley in your house. Set up empty water or soda bottles and roll a small ball at them. If the bottles fall over too easily, fill them with a little bit of water.

Indoor basketball can be played with a bucket and a rolled up sock or small ball. With each bucket made, have the child step back and try again. The person who makes a shot from the farthest distance wins.
Most kids love pirates, so some pirate play will be a lot of fun. Wrap some blocks or other small items in aluminum foil and hide them around the house. Give the kids a flashlight and a bag and see if they can find the buried “silver.”
Tag can be fun – even for the little ones. They all love to be chased around the house! Try adding to the silliness by chasing them in slow motion and tickling them when you catch them.
Freeze dancing is also a blast. Turn up the volume and have the kids dance until the music stops. See what crazy poses you can come up with!
Hot potato is another fun game to play with the kids. Have everybody sit in a circle on the floor, turn on the music, and pass the “potato” (a bean bag or small ball work well). When the music stops, the person holding the potato is out. This is sure to leave everybody giggling.
Once the kids are tired and hungry, serve a picnic lunch in the living room. Have the kids pack some food – juice boxes, water bottles, etc. – and make some sandwiches.
If you need to get out of the house, bring the kids to Big Adventures in Westfield and let them run around and burn off some energy.
We have ball pits, ropes, cargo nets, and slides. We also have arcade games, a ticket redemption counter, and a full kitchen.
Fun for everyone!
