East Granby Parks & Recreation is hosting its Last Blast of Summer Concert this Saturday evening, August 24th. This year's event will feature the ever-popular Savage Brothers performing a mix of oldies, today's music and country songs.
According to event organizer Rosalie McKenney, the concert is a wonderful free family event. "Music soothes the soul, and it will be a fun and relaxing event before the back to school rush is on and summer is officially over", she said - then added, "I like the fact that neighbors, friends, seniors and children can all enjoy this event. It brings the town together for a change".
The event will take place at the East Granby Senior/Community Center from 6:30-8:30PM. It is open to the public and free of charge. The East Granby Lions will be again serving their famous hot dogs and hamburgers, along with other refreshments. There will be a bounce house for the kids as well as face painting by Fantasy Faces. The forecast is for warm and dry weather, so it should be a perfect evening for a community gathering. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy!
This year's sponsors include: Northwest Community Bank; Brignole, Bush & Lewis LLC; East Granby Youth Services; Advanced Auto Body & Tire King.
