This Tuesday, August 27th, the Granby Farmers’ Market will be hitting the books and celebrating literacy day. The first day of school is approaching for students and we will have special guests and activities to show how reading can enrich our lives. Mama Bearfoot of Barefoot Books will be with us, so you and your child can pick out some great books at the market. We will have author T.J. Banks as one of our special guests. T. J. Banks is the author of Sketch People, A Time for Shadows and several other books. Her collection of cat stories Catsong won the Merial Human-Animal Bond Award in 2007. The authors of the newly released book Just Ordinary Moms will also be among our special guests for the day. This group of local moms collaborated to write a wonderful collection of heartfelt stories about what it really means to be a mom.
