New York City Fugitive Captured in East Granby

The man is wanted in connection with several home invasion robberies.

EAST GRANBY, CT — A fugitive wanted in connection with several home invasion robberies in New York City was captured attempting to flee from a house in East Granby late Tuesday morning.

Anthony Mack, 25, was taken into custody around 11 a.m. by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force on Talcott Range Drive. As law enforcement personnel were approaching the front of the residence, Mack fled from the rear of the home, where he was eventually taken into custody in the back yard without further incident, according to Supervisory Deputy Brian O’Neill, public information officer for the District of Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Mack is wanted in connection with three separate home invasion robberies that occurred in October and November 2017 in New York City. During one of the home invasions, Mack is suspected of forcing entry into a south Bronx residence, where at knifepoint he robbed and threatened to stab the homeowner. Mack also has two felony warrants for criminal contempt out of New York, O'Neill said.
