- Over 200 people have used the four portable shower stalls in front of the Senior Center over the last two days, according to First Selectman James Hayden. The showers will be available on Saturday, Nov. 5, but residents are encouraged to call the Senior Center at 860-653-4371 because of sporadic staffing expected tomorrow, Hayden said.
POWER RESTORATION
- As power is restored, power lines may be “LIVE” so please use caution.
- For downed power lines across trees, please notify CL&P individually at 860-947-2000.
- CL&P crews are clearing downed wires and the Public Works and Fire Department crews are assisting with cutting branches. CL&P is estimating that most households will have power restored by midnight on Sunday. Some power has been reestablished in the center of town. As of 8:45 p.m. Friday, 37 percent of the town, or 986 out of 2,611 of CL&P customers were still without power.
- CL&P is asking that you check the condition of your junction box attached to the outside of your home.~ If it has pulled away, you will need to call an electrician to reconnect the box. By doing this now, CL&P will be able to expedite the restoration of power to your home when your service line is repaired.
