Peak Veggie Season, Plus Award-Winning Children's Entertainer at the Market This Week

Enjoy an incredible bounty of fresh vegetables this week at East Granby Farmers Market, along with meats, dairy, fresh baked goodies, fresh flowers, vegan snacks, handmade jewelry, doggie treats, Italian ice, herbs, preserves, maple products, honey and more!  We're into peak season for a lot of veggies, so now's a great time to stock up and enjoy.  We've been promised fresh peaches this week - and the tomatoes are perfect right now.  Teamed with fresh basil and some goat cheese - both also available at the market - it's like summer on a plate.

Fern Michonski, of Fern's Music for Kids (www.fernsmusicforkids.com) will be on hand in the entertainer's tent to perform her special high-energy blend of music and fun.  The preschool education expert will also be available to chat about her award-winning children's programs.  Fern has selected a warm, dry, sunny day to reschedule - she was previously scheduled for the our rainy July 10th market.

This week's vendors include our regulars - Chet's Italian Ice, George Hall Farm, Hastings Farm, Hemlock Knoll, Lost Acres Orchard, Newgate Farms, Oxen Hill Farm, Raw Foods Central, Sweet Pea Farm, and Sweet Wind Farm - plus: Another Way Farm, Beading Adventures, Briarwoods Farm and Woof N Wheels.

East Granby Farmers Market is a farm-oriented venue for the very best in Connecticut grown produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and other handmade and locally harvested items.  The Market is open from 3 - 6PM on Wednesdays, June 19th through September 25th, 2013, and is located at The Center Shops, corner of Routes 20 and 187, in the center of East Granby.  The Market is run entirely by volunteers, and vendor fees directly benefit the East Granby Public Library.
