Pedals for Progress Used Bicycle and Sewing Machine Collection

Pedals for Progress will hold its 12th annual Granby bike and sewing machine collection on Saturday, May 25th from noon to 3 p.m.,
rain or shine, at Holcomb Farm, 113 Simsbury Road, West Granby, CT.
Anyone
with an adult or child’s bicycle or portable sewing machine in working or
repairable condition is encouraged to donate it to this great cause.

For more than 20 years, Pedals for Progress has prevented
over 137,000 bikes from entering our waste stream. Instead, families are living
better lives because they have the simple mobility of a bicycle. More than
2,000 sewing machines have supported the development of small businesses.

The cost to collect, process, ship, rebuild, and distribute
each bicycle is $40. A $10 minimum donation toward shipping costs in requested
with each bike or sewing machine, and additional donations are greatly
appreciated to cover the increasing cost of shipping. All cash and material
donations are fully tax deductible and a receipt will be available at the
collection site.  Pedals for
Progress is a 501 c (3) corporation and a registered charity in Connecticut.
