[Photo Gallery] Dignitaries at Celebrate Granby 225

More than a few federal, state and local officials attended the town's 225th birthday party at Salmon Brook Park on Saturday.

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, state Sen. Kevin Witkos, state Sen. John Kissel and First Selectman John Adams were all on hand to kick off the event at the park's bandshell in the early afternoon.

"I couldn't be prouder to be anywhere else than Granby today," said Blumenthal, who said that the town-wide birthday party exemplified what it means to be a part of a community, before joking, "None of you look a day over 225."
