Red Cross Blood Drive, Forget The Skates, And Remember The Tickets

Today is Thursday Feb. 10, 2011 and there are 324 days left in the year.  Mostly sunny skies today with a high of 24 degrees expected.  Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing until Saturday when we may see a few snow showers.

The Red Cross is holding a blood drive today at East Granby High School.  If you can make it out today the Red Cross could use the help.  Recent cancelations have left blood supplies low.  You can stop by the high school from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. All are welcome.

If the kids have been inside too long today, the Granby Recreation Department is hosting the pre-skater 'No Skate Zone' at Salmon Brook Park.  Forget the skates, grab some hot chocolate instead and head down to the park between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and hit the ice, with your shoes.  Oh, and don't forget to bring the kids.**** This event has been canceled.
