May is National Bike Month. Simsbury is a designated Bike Friendly Community so we will be celebrating for the entire month. Attached is the calendar with some of the activities planned including Bike to School Day, Bike to Work Week and Bike to Work Day. A few of our Simsbury Elementary Schools will participate in a Bike/Walk to School program and the Physical Education Department will conduct a Bike Safety Unit pilot program this year with expansion to other schools in town over the next few years. The Bicycle Cellar will be hosting trail and mountain bike rides throughout the month and Simsbury Free Bike will reopen on May 1. Signature rides with Mary Glassman, Simsbury's First Selectman and Dan Esty, Commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection are planned. Check the calendar and come ride with us! Questions? Email us at Simsburyfreebike@gmail.com or call 860 841.2611
