Special Event: Demonstration Day with the Handweavers' Guild of Connecticut at the Connecticut Historical Society

Join us for a day of free demonstrations and activities for both families and adults! Members of the Handweavers' Guild of Connecticut use a combination of historical and modern techniques and designs to create their work. Handweavers will be demonstrating their craft on various looms and spinning wheels. Visitors will have the chance to try out several of these weaving tools, including an inkle loom and a Dorset loom. A special area for kids will offer hands-on projects to make and take home. Demonstrations will take place in the Time Warps: Textiles from Today's Weavers exhibit and in our auditorium. Museum galleries will be open and FREE all day. FREE on-site parking is available. For more information, visit www.chs.org or call (860)236-5621 x222.
