Suicide Prevention Training Open to Community Members!

As part of the One Word, One Voice, One Life state wide suicide prevention initiative, the Town of Granby is joining with East Granby and holding a CONNECT Suicide Prevention Training.  This training is being facilitated by Tom Steen of CASAC and will be held on Monday September 30th from 9 to 1.

Participants in this training will learn about how to identify someone at risk of suicide, and what to do to help them.   Additionally, as a group, we will look at the resources Granby and East Granby currently have in place with regards to this issue, and we will develop a plan to improve and strengthen our community wide prevention efforts.

The Town of Granby was awarded a small grant  which will be used to promote these prevention efforts.

We were informed today that in addition to the school and town department representitives currently scheduled to attend this training, we can invite other members of the community to join us!  We have room for up to 15 more participants!

If you or someone you know would like to attend and not only learn what you can do to prevent suicide, but help us develop a community wide suicide prevention effort, please call me to sign up for this training!  (860) 844-5355.
