A new community event will debut on Sunday, July 20, when TCBY and the Avon Chamber of Commerce partner in presenting the 1st Annual TCBY/Avon Chamber Summer Sundae from noon to 5 p.m. on Ensign Drive in Avon Park North. The rain date is Sunday, July 27.
“It will be a showcase of our chamber businesses,” Avon Chamber Executive Director Lisa Bohman said. “Our goal is to get the community more aware of our members and to shop local.”
The event will also be a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Avon-Canton and its charities. Each year, a different Avon Chamber member non-profit organization will be chosen to be the beneficiary.
TCBY – which stands for The Country’s Best Yogurt – is headlining the event. Owners Lisa and Mark Arnold of Simsbury will donate a percentage of sales of their frozen yogurts, toppings and the event’s signature-named “summer sundae.”
The Arnolds organized a similar event called Summer Fun Day in 2012 and 2013 but this year, decided to team up with their fellow Avon Chamber members.
Performances and contests will be part of this fun afternoon, and members of the Valley Collector Car Club will have their classic cars on display.
