On Sunday, Nov. 17, Life Church
of Granby will host “The Potter and the Clay: God’s Plan for Man”,
a visual presentation of how God works in our lives through the example of a
master potter working with clay. The event will take place at 10:00 a.m.
in the church sanctuary located at 23 Griffin Road.
This
event features Pastor John Thomas of Calvary Chapel of Fredricktown, PA, who
has been working with clay since the early 1970s. He began working with
clay in high school, and then continued on by working as a production potter in
various potteries in Southern California. From there, John went on to manage
one of the largest handcrafted potteries in the US. John also built a
studio in Huntington Beach, California, where he made and sold pottery.
In1984 John left Southern California and moved his family to Pennsylvania where
he founded Thomas Pottery Company. Thomas Pottery was a family owned and
operated pottery, where John, his wife Shelly, and their two children ran the
pottery and employed others.
The event is free and is open to the public. Come and join us for one of
the best demonstrations of how God loves us and wants what’s best for us. It is
meant for all art enthusiasts and for everyone in the family. For more
