This Week in Granby and East Granby: Celebrate Granby and a Revolutionary Encampment

Good morning Granby and East Granby. By my husband's count there are 92 days left in the year, which means only one thing to me - that there's about three months until Christmas. It sounds like a while but it'll pretty much be settling into fall school/activities schedule, then bang it's Halloween, blink and it's Thanksgiving and then I'm sitting up at 1 in the morning wrapping Christmas presents. 

Let's not think about that yet. Right now it's perfectly beautiful fall weather. Since Granby and East Granby are two of the most beautiful towns in the state, what are the best ways to enjoy fall here? 

In Granby:

The Park and Recreation Board meets Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Board of Education meets Wednesday at 7 p.m.

And the Conservation Commission meets Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Celebrate Granby is coming up on Oct. 4 and 5 at Salmon Brook Park. The event features booths with local businesses, organizations and restaurants, crafters and vendors and a carnival with rides, games and bouncy houses. Local dance studios and bands will also provide entertainment. See more here.

In East Granby:

Meetings this week include Economic Development Monday at 7:30 p.m. and Zoning Board of Appeals Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The sewer usage fee is due Oct. 1. 

On Oct. 5 and 6, Historical East Granby hosts a Revolutionary War Encampment with period exhibits and performances at East Granby Farms. The event features fife and drum corps, fiddlers, performers and exhibitors, walking tours and children’s programs. More information is here.
