After Boy Scouts from East Granby Troop 70 lit the tree, the chorus and Sandra Vick of “We Love the Arts” led a holiday carol sing-along.
“It reflects the spirit of East Granby to have so many people here for the lighting,” First Selectman Jim Hayden said during his remarks.
Afterward, children and their parents gathered at the Senior and Community Center for holiday treats and a coloring contest.
It was the second consecutive week that a tree lighting ceremony took place in town. On Dec. 3, a tree planted behind Town Hall in the memory of Jacky Welsh was decorated and lit, while residents caroled afterward.
