2 Homes Burglarized In Greenwich, Police Issue Safety Tips: PD

Police said they deployed multiple K9 units and a drone to track the surrounding area following a report of a possible burglary in progress.

GREENWICH, CT — Two homes were burglarized in town this week, according to the Greenwich Police Department, which issued several safety tips to residents.

On Feb. 26 at approximately 7:11 p.m., police received a report of a possible burglary in progress in the Glenville section of town, police said in an announcement Friday.

"The reporting party advised that two unidentified males were observed on surveillance cameras inside an unoccupied residence. Multiple patrol units responded immediately to the area and established a perimeter," police said. "Upon investigation, officers confirmed that a burglary had occurred at the residence. The two subjects had fled prior to police arrival."

Police deployed multiple K9 units and a drone to track the surrounding area, but did not find anything, police said, noting as officers continued an investigation, a second home was found to be burglarized.

"We would like to extend our appreciation to neighboring jurisdictions for their assistance," police added.

No arrests have been made as of Friday afternoon, according to the GPD.

Police offered up the following safety tips:

  • Lock all doors and windows, even when leaving for short periods
  • Set alarm systems when away from home
  • Ensure exterior lighting is functional
  • Utilize surveillance cameras where possible
  • Promptly report any suspicious activity to police

An investigation remains ongoing. Police said no additional information will be released at this time.
