20-Year-Old Greenwich Man Dies In Suspected Drowning In Vermont: PD

The incident occurred on Tuesday in Bolton, VT.

GREENWICH, CT — A 20-year-old Greenwich man died Tuesday in what authorities in Vermont are calling "an apparent drowning" at the Bolton Potholes, a swimming area, in Bolton, VT.

Samuel Paprin "had been caught in the rapids while swimming and became unresponsive," according to Vermont State Police.

He was transported by ambulance to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, where he was pronounced dead, following the 4:30 p.m. incident.

The investigation into the suspected drowning is continuing. Vermont State Police was assisted by Richmond Rescue, Richmond Fire Department and Bolton Fire Department.

According to the website, Dana Freeman Travels, the popular Bolton Potholes consist of "a series of five waterfalls that create several separate pools of water" for swimming.
