2017 Greenwich 'Raise The Flag' Ceremony Set For July 4th

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Scouts will "Raise the Flag" at 9 a.m. at Town Hall on Tuesday, July 4th, as part of the town's annual Independence Day celebrations, organizers announced.

The event will include the following, according to a post on town's website:

• Help us raise the first American flag to celebrate Greenwich’s history
• Watch Greenwich Scouts parade the flags of the 13 Colonies
• Honor Greenwich citizens who are descendants of our founding families
• Salute patriots who gave their lives in the Revolutionary War
• Recognize Good Citizen winners from Greenwich public and private schools
• Join us for refreshments inside Town Hall

Greenwich is scheduled to hold its annual 4th of July Fireworks Display on Saturday, July 1, at Greenwich Point and Binney Park, with a rain date of Sunday, July 2.
