74 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Within Greenwich Public Schools

Greenwich Public Schools has totaled 702 COVID-19 cases since spring recess in April. There were 700 cases total in the '20-'21 school year.

GREENWICH, CT — According to the latest update, there have been 74 new COVID-19 cases reported in Greenwich Public Schools since last Friday.

There are 67 active cases affecting 54 students, six teachers, four non-teaching staff members, two administrators and a service provider.

Overall, 14 schools are affected. Greenwich High School and Cos Cob School have the most active cases with 16.

Since the school district returned to classes on April 25 following spring recess, there have been 702 cases reported. That total surpasses the entire number of cases from the 2020-2021 school year.

The recent spike mirrors what's been seen in the community, according to the data. New cases in the school district peaked at 113 on May 10 and 112 on May 13. Since then, there were 95 cases reported on May 17 and 65 on May 20.
