According to the Greenwich Department of Parks & Recreation Parks & Trees Division, the state Department of Transportation is planning to install a new substation and remove the current substation behind the fence.

"The access point with the least amount of disturbance is where the posted tree currently resides," the Parks & Trees Division told Patch in an email. "New landscaping and a new tree will be part of the post installation work."

Greenwich Tree Warden Dr. Gregory Kramer noted there will also be a new retaining wall installed, close to where the tree currently stands.

More information, including a Zoom link for the hearing, can be found here.
