On Saturday, Feb. 25 from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m., the Swim-A-Thon is where future Olympians, who have collected pledges per lap, will hit the pool for swimming challenges complete with relays and obstacle courses. The Club welcomes all Greenwich residents to support this year’s Swim-A-Thon to inspire Olympic hopefuls.

"We are all about fitness and fun. Swimming is the ideal, all around exercise and the competition is enjoyable for families," says Dawn Berrocal, Aquatics Director of BGCG.

These events will support the Club’s aquatic programs, ranging from staff to equipment and will allow the Club to provide quality programs for its members. With a yearly membership of $25, members can join the swim team and participate in special clinics including swimming lessons, snorkeling, water polo, water ballet, kayaking, under water hockey and lifeguarding courses.

Club swimmers are asking for pledges from the community to help reach this year’s tidal wave of a goal of $40,000 by the end of April 2012. The Club utilizes Crowdrise to fundraise for the event. The community can sign up there to participate or provide a donation at http://www.crowdrise.com/swimathon2012.
