Greenwich Rotary's newest Member is John Sheedy, GM of The J House Hotel in Greenwich

On Wednesday February 6, 2013 The Greenwich Rotary Club was delighted to add a new member to our growing club. Our newest member is John Sheedy, who is the General Manager (also known as the Guy in Charge) at The J House Greenwich Hotel. John proudly comes from Limerick in Ireland where he learned first-hand how food was prepared by his mother, who taught cooking in Limerick and came from the heart of Ireland’s dairy heartland; the Golden Vale. John stays in touch with his roots and is delighted to bring his brand of hospitality and background to Greenwich and the J Hotel where renowned Executive Chef, Francois Kwaku-Dongo will be preparing locally sourced foods at Eleven 14 Kitchen.

John makes a great addition to our club and variety of industry professionals who are focused on improving the world we live in, volunteerism and service above self. John has been in the hotel industry for 30 years and has worked in luxury hotel properties in Ireland, Germany and here in the United States.

Please note meetings start at 12:15 for lunch in Greenwich at the J House and all are welcome to attend. A non-profit 503c organization, the Club of approximately 70+ members, who are by Rotary International requirements from different occupations, raises money locally for distribution to worthy causes locally and internationally.

The J House is a boutique hotel which offers way more than chic lodging. It has an assortment of pleasures. There is a an stylish outdoor dining room, bar and lounge areas. When you walk in you smell and see fresh chocolate from fountains at the “Chocolate Lab” located inside this multifaceted contemporary hotel. The J house radiates a modern atmosphere and houses seasonal American Cuisine from their restaurant “Eleven 14 Kitchen”.
