Continuing my post about new shops in town, I’m excited to introduce At Home in the Heights, a fabulous shop offering a delightful collection of home décor items, small furniture, gifts, tabletop items, bedding and bath linen, and more. All of which are available for monogramming. Beautiful tableware is available, including ceramics from Tunisia. Also very popular have been their lamps. At Home in the Heights offers a great variety of chic table lamps, all under $200! Bedding and bath are a specialty. After all, owner Alicia Taylor comes from 10 years of co-ownership at a prestigious local shop. If anyone knows linen, Alicia does.

Alicia is a 17 year resident of Darien. Raising her two daughters here and enjoying all of what Darien has to offer, Alicia opened At Home in the Heights in November 2013. After 10 years of co-ownership in retail, Alicia was ready for something different. Seeking greater creative flexibility and identifying a need in Darien for quality linens, Alicia brings her talents to the table (literally!). “We’re trying to offer different items” and put a “modern twist on traditional”, says Alicia.

At Home in the Heights is a great resource for gifts for everyone on your list. While perusing the shop, I find great options for birthday gifts, house warming gifts or just about any occasion you might need a gift for. In fact, I picked up a beautiful scented candle for my daughter’s CCD teacher and a perfume set for my mom’s birthday (the scent is called Wish; I thought it appropriate for a birthday!). Everything is exquisitely gift boxed and ribbon-ed.

Overwhelmed with all the choices or just need some ideas? Alicia is happy to lend her expertise. She will even make house calls to help pull your home together. Now, that’s service! With over 150 fabrics to choose from for curtains, bedding, furniture and more, you will find what you’re looking for.
